The Ezüstfenyő Hotel
The main tourist attraction in Telkibánya is the former Károlyi castle located in the town centre. It was built in Tyrolean style in the 1930s. The two-storey building covered with wood is surrounded by a 6-hectare forest. The Károlyi family, dealing with forestry, purchased all their furniture for their hunting lodge in Austria.
After WWII it was nationalised and used as a resort for workers, then it was used by tourists.
In 1998, the premises were privatised by DBH group and redecoration was started. Now, after the redecoration, the Ezüstfenyő Hotel waits for its guest with the atmosphere of the former Károlyi hunting lodge. Earlier it was called the Hotel Gold, then the Ezüstfenyő Hotel Gold. Tourists visiting the area have always loved this hotel. In the past few years the hotel has been redecorated several times, a new first-class conference room has been made.
The hot water used in the hotel is partly provided by solar energy.
Since 2017 -the hotel has been providing its guests a 3-star service!
